The career of conductor Daniel Ros (1992), from El Jimenado (Murcia, Spain), has been consolidated by his growing activity. It all started in his windband, the Agrupación Musical del Pasico de Torre-Pacheco, and since then he has gone on to achieve goals and has even achieved positions such as assistant conductor of the ADDA-Simfònica de Alicante orchestra and the Orquesta Joven de Córdoba during the 2019-2021 seasons. In addition, he was also assistant conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia during the 2019-2023 seasons. He currently combines his residence in Rotterdam, due to his studies of Master of Music in Orchestra Conducting at the University of the Arts of Rotterdam, under the tutelage of Hans Leenders and Sander Teepen, with his activity as a conductor and manager in different cities and countries. He is also a member of the board of the Spanish Association of Orchestra Conductors (AESDO) and, since its foundation in 2023, he is the Musical and Artistic Director of the Harmonix Orchestra (HXO) and the President of the Harmonix Foundation.
Of particular note is his new appointment as Chief Conductor of the Leiden Sinfonietta from April 2024 and he has won a position as assistant conductor at Opera Zuid in the Netherlands for their production of Rossini, which will take La Scala di seta and Il signor Bruschino on tour to different cities in the country during May and April 2024.
He has studied with great maestros such as Miguel Ángel Gómez-Martínez, Antoni Hermus, Karel Deseure, Igor Gruppman, Jurjen Hempel, Atso Almila, José Miguel Rodilla, Cristóbal Soler, Miguel Romea, Michalis Economou, Nacho de Paz, Óliver Díaz, Fabián Panisello, Karel Mark Chichon and Johannes Wildner, among others.
He has conducted orchestras of recognised prestige such as the Orquesta Sinfónica y Orquesta de Jóvenes de la Región de Murcia, orquesta ADDA-Simfònica, Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de la FSMCV, Orquesta Joven de Córdoba, Het Nederlands Studenten Kamerorkest, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Berlin Symphoniker, Berlin Sinfonietta, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Harmonie Ensemble-Orchestra, Orquesta de Córdoba, Orquesta Sinfónica CullerArts, Leiden Sinfonietta, Rotterdams Studentenorkest, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE).
Daniel Ros has received several national awards both for his work as a conductor and as a composer, including the AESDO Prize in the First International Orchestra Conducting Competition "Lliria, city of music" (2021) and the Second Prize in the second edition of the same competition (2023), as well as his semi-finalist place in the V Orchestral Conducting Competition organised by the Orquesta de Córdoba (2017). He has also been selected to attend various courses and competitions in Germany, France, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. He has also taken part as a jury member in important performance competitions, such as Entre Cuerdas y Metales and the Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes Villa de Molina.
In 2019 he was awarded a scholarship as a trainee conductor by the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) and the JONDE. After attending the specialisation course with Bruno Aprea, he was selected to conduct the JONDE in concert in the prestigious Sala Mozart of the Auditorio de Zaragoza.
He has conducted in prestigious halls such as the Sala Mozart of the Auditorio de Zaragoza, the Sala Narciso Yepes of the Auditorio "Víctor Villegas" in the Region of Murcia, the ADDA in Alicante, the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven or the Spiegelzaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, among others.
His next engagements will take him to conduct in different countries such as Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Venezuela, México and Germany.
